Water

water – jewel box lake
Water

Above the water, it’s just a pile of rocks.
Below the water, it’s a dazzling show of shapes and colors that’s crowned with reflections that sparkle like stars.

How can we quantify what water does for us?

It quenches thirst.
Transports nutrients.
Regulates body temperatures.
Cleans cells.

It’s both the enabler and protector of all life we see.

By expanding when it freezes, it lets lake life survive the winter.
By absorbing large amounts of energy when it evaporates, it lets us survive the summer.

Water does so much more than merely met our needs.

Water droplets give us rainbows.
Snow turns lifeless winter wastes into beautiful wonderlands
Clouds turn the sky into artwork that’s always new.

Everything from canoeing to wakeboarding,
Everything from skating to snowboarding,
Everything from fishing to firefighting
Is thanks to water

Let anyone who is thirsty come.
Let anyone who desires drink freely
from the water of life.
